Scirpophaga serenus

Description

Scirpophaga serenus is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Meyrick in 1935. It is found in Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Katanga, West Kasai). The wingspan is 30–35 mm for males and 46–53 mm for females. The forewings of the males are dark ochreous. The hindwings are suffused with fuscous on the distal half. The forewings of the females vary from pale ochreous to ochreous, with a pale ochreous white costal margin. The hindwings are white with an ochreous yellow anal tuft.
