Description

Hedya pruniana, the plum tortrix, is a species of moth of the Tortricidae family. It is found in the Palearctic ecozone. In central Europe, it is a common species. In the east, the range extends through Anatolia and Iran, the Ural, Transcaucasia and western Kazakhstan to the Far East. The wingspan is 15–19 mm. Adults are on wing from May to August. The larvae feed on various plant, including Prunus spinosa, Crataegus, Rosa, Sorbus and Corylus avellana. The larvae can be found from July/August to April/May. The species overwinters in the larval stage.
