Description

Pseudomys nanus is a rodent from the genus Pseudomys that occurs in Australia.Its range covers the north of Western Australia,including Barrow Island,the north and center of the Northern Territory and northwestern Queensland.This is a large species with short limbs and ears.The back is orange to dark brown,the belly white,changing to the reddish flanks.Around the eye is a chestnut-colored ring.The head-body length is 90 to 140 mm,the tail length 80 to 120 mm,the hindfoot length 23 to 27 mm,the ear length 14 to 16 mm and the weight 25 to 50 grams.Females have 2 = 4 mammae.This species is active at night;it is often observed.He mainly eats grass.The animal mates when conditions permit;the population can increase rapidly if possible.
