Greater grison

Description

The Grison or Grison German ( Galictis vittata ) is a species of mammals of the family of Mustelidae.It is found in Central America and northern South America.This species was described for the first time in 1776 by German naturalist Johann Christian Daniel von Schreber (1739-1810).The Grison is a terrestrial mammal found in tropical forests as well as in cultivated areas of Central and South America.It has an opportunistic diet and therefore feeds on fruits as well as small animals (rodents,birds,lizards,amphibians...) or eggs.Although hunted or captured for sale as a pet,populations of this species are generally stable.It measures 55 cm and weighs 3 kg.
