Description

Chioides zilpa, the zilpa longtail, is a species of dicot skipper in the butterfly family Hesperiidae. It is found in Central America, North America, and South America. The MONA or Hodges number for Chioides zilpa is 3875. Chioides is a mainly Neotropical genus of skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae (Eudaminae). They range from Southwestern United States to Argentina and there are several Antillean endemic species. They are robust and have hindwing "tails".
