Chlamydastis galeomorpha

Description

Chlamydastis galeomorpha is a moth in the Depressariidae family. It was described by Edward Meyrick in 1931. It is found in Brazil. The wingspan is about 24 mm. The forewings are pale ochreous with the costa slenderly coppery-grey from near the base to near one-third, where it forms a short transverse mark. The costal edge beyond this is white and the plical stigma is minute and blackish, the second discal forming a blackish linear transverse mark, preceded by some whitish suffusion. There is a small greyish mark on the middle of the costa and a greyish streak from the second discal stigma to the costa rather beyond it, the apical area beyond this forming a large rounded white patch, including a rounded golden-fuscous blotch almost reaching the apical edge of which the anterior portion is produced into a blackish lobe, an incurved reddish-brown transverse streak between this and the discal mark, one or two blackish dashes crossing this towards the costa, its lower end bent out above the blackish lobe. A marginal series of blackish marks or dots is found around the apical part of the costa and termen. The hindwings are rather dark grey.
