Eupselia metabola

Description

Eupselia metabola is a moth in the Depressariidae family. It was described by Alfred Jefferis Turner in 1947. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from Queensland. The wingspan is 13–16 mm. The forewings are fuscous, with the basal area white with fuscous transverse strigulae. There is a white spot with a transverse fuscous strigula on the costa beyond the middle. Sometimes, the white basal area is extended to become confluent with the costal spot. A white dot is found on the costa before the apex and there are several leaden-grey transverse lines in the median area. The subterminal area is more or less sprinkled with very slender whitish scales and the terminal edge is brilliant metallic rosy purple. There is a blackish spot encircled by metallic lustre on the termen above the tornus. The hindwings are fuscous with a basal ochreous patch of variable size.
