Description

Copris costaricensis is a species of Coleoptera described by Charles Joseph Gahan in 1894. Copris costaricensis belongs to the genus Copris,and the family Scarabaeidae.Single subspecies: C. c. dolichocerus. Copris is a genus of dung beetles in the tribe Coprini (subfamily Scarabaeinae) of the scarab family. It comprises more than 250 tunnelling species and has an almost worldwide distribution.
