Description

The Lark of Jerdon ( Mirafra affinis ),is a species of passerine bird belonging to the family Alaudidae.It is located in the south of India.This species was considered a subspecies of Mirafra assamica.However,different recent studies have shown that it is a separate species.M.affinis is found in southeastern India and Sri Lanka,with an estimated global extension of 100,000-1,000,000 square kilometers.It has proven to be able to adapt to a variety of open habitats up to a maximum height of 1,500 meters.Some of these are forest perimeters,rocky thickets,meadows and clearings of mountain scrub in open-type forests,shrubs on unused agricultural land,and bamboo thickets.
