Description

The soft-tailed armadillo of the Chaco ( Cabassous chacoensis ) is a species of armadillo found in the Gran Chaco,between Bolivia,Paraguay,Argentina and probably also Brazil.It colonizes a wide range of habitats,from prairies to river banks. It measures about half a meter in length.Like congeners,it resembles a giant miniature armadillo;unlike the latter,however,presents the defensive plates on the tail very small and spaced,hence the name of soft-tailed armadillo or naked tail. No nests have ever been observed.
