Epipedobates

Description

Epipedobates anthonyi is a frog that belongs to the family poison dart frogs (Dendrobatidae).The species was scientifically described for the first time by Gladwyn Kingsley Noble in 1921.Originally,the scientific name Phyllobates anthonyi was used. For a long time the scientific name of this species was synonymous with the tricolor frog ( Epipedobates tricolor ),but recently the frog has been recognized as a separate species.
