Description

Phelsuma borbonica is a lizard from the suborder geckos and the genus of the Madagascar day geckos ( Phelsuma ).The species was first scientifically described by Robert Friedrich Wilhelm Mertens in 1966.Originally,the scientific name Phelsuma cepediana borbonica was used.Phelsuma borbonica occurs in parts of the Mascarenes and has been found on the islands of Mauritius ( Agalega,Reunion,Bois Blanc ).The lizard reaches a headline length of up to 6.9 centimeters and a total body length including tail to sixteen cm.The lizard has a green to brown body color and has a vague design and no clear stripes.The number of scales rows on the center of the body is 99 to 114.
