Description

Cuora mccordi is a species of turtle in the family Geoemydidae.This species is endemic to China,with a limited distribution in the province of Guangxi.It was described by Ernst in 1988 in the Chinese pet trade,this turtle lacked distribution data until Zhou (2007) was able to report its nature.It is one of the most threatened turtle species,much sought after by traditional Chinese medicine and by turtle enthusiasts.Its carapace measures from 14 cm to 18 cm in length.
