Description

This species is a small swallow that measures 18 to 25 cm.long.The adults have a dark metallic blue color and a long and forked tail,particularly notable in the case of males.They have white feathers in the lower belly and on the sides,something that is observed especially in courtship.In low light,the blue swallows seem almost black and therefore,can be confused with those of the genus Psalidoprocne spp.,something that happens in its reproduction range.The young are of a grayish brown color and acquire the blue color when they mature.Her singing is a musical bee-bee-bee-bee during the flight.
