Description

The cacique candela or red-bellied turpial ( Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster ) is a species of bird of the family Icteridae,monotypic of the genus Hypopyrrhus and endemic to Colombia.The male measures 31.5 cm in length and the female 27 cm.Matt black plumage,on the head,neck and neck with shiny axes;bright red belly.The beak and legs are black.The iris is yellow.
