Description

Sylvacaecilia grandisonae is a worm salamander from the Indotyphlidae family.The species was first scientifically described by Edward Harrison Taylor in 1970.Originally,the scientific name Geotrypetes grandisonae was used.The worm salamander was for a long time a member of the family Caeciliidae.It is the only species from the monotypic genus Sylvacaecilia.Sylvacaecilia grandisonae is endemic in Ethiopia.The worm salamander is found at an altitude of 1500 to 2100 meters above sea level.Because of the hidden lifestyle,little is known about biology and lifestyle.
