Cape Verde shearwater

Description

The shearwater-of-cable-Green was originally described in 1883 by Émile Oustalet as a kind autonomous in gender Calonectris but was later regarded as a subspecies of Scopoli's Shearwater.The situation was reversed in 1995 by the publication of a taxonomic analysis by Cornelis Hazevoet which shows that the Cape Verdean population is a distinct species
