Description

The Shearwater Townsend or Shearwater Revillagigedo ( Townsend's Shearwater ) is a rare species of bird procelariforme family of proceláridos ( Procellariidae ).This species reproduces around the Evermann hill on Socorro Island of the Revillagigedo archipelago,Mexico.The main threat to this species are the feral cats introduced to the island in the early 1970s.The sheep are destroying the breeding habitat.The species was also reproduced on Clarion Island until 1988,where nesting sites and habitats were destroyed by introduced pigs,sheep and rabbits.
