Description

Nyctimene rabori is a mammalian species described by Heaney and Peterson in 1984.The novels rabori are included in the genus Nyctimene and the family flyghund.IUCN categorizes the species globally as highly threatened.No subspecies are listed.This flying dog occurs on various islands in the Philippines,including Negros.The species lives in hilly areas and in mountain ranges up to 1300 meters above sea level.The habitat consists of different kinds of forests and individuals are often found near water collections.The species is one of the larger in the genus.The length of the forearms that determines the animal's wingspan is 7 to 8 cm.Honor has a golden brown coat and males are slightly darker.Like with other species of the same genus there are yellow spots on the body.In addition,the individuals have a dark longitudinal strip on the back of the back.The absolute body length is about 14 cm,including a 2.5 cm long tail.The tubular nostrils that are typical for the entire genus are about 6 mm long.Probably eating species mainly the fruit juice and some insects.Honor that had milk in the teats and males that were mating were found in May and June.Therefore,it is assumed that the propagation takes place during these months.
