The Galápagos ( Laterallus spilonota Gould,1841 ) is a bird belonging to the Rallidi family,originally from the homonymous islandsThe Galápagos ranch is a small terrestrial bird (15-16 cm),which has almost entirely lost its ability to fly.Very similar to the blackish rooster of the Americas,it is covered by a dark,almost completely black plumage,with the exception of head and chest,of a more gray hue,and of some white spots on the back.It has the scarlet iris,the black beak and short wings,used only very rarely.It is a very vocal species,which emits a wide range of recalls
