Description

The Turkish or Huet-huet Turkish ( Pteroptochos megapodius ),also called Turkish or tululagua,is a kind of bird paseriforme,one of the three belonging to the genus Pteroptochos the family Rhinocryptidae.It is endemic to Chile.It measures 23-24 cm in length,with the beak,legs and claws powerful,black.Its plumage is mainly smoked coffee on the back,head,neck,wings and tail.The loin and the supracaudales are rufo brownish.The throat and sides of the neck are white;upper neck and chest light brown with rufous tints;lower chest,abdomen and flanks white striped coffee and black.The northern subspecies atacamae is smaller,with less obvious stripes.
