(Rhinolophus mehelyi)
The medium horseshoe mite,Rhinolophus mehelyi (named after the Hungarian zoologist Lajos Méhely ) is a chiroptera belonging to the family Rhinolophidae.It is a rhinopod of medium size,with the body between 47 and 54 mm and between 10 and 18 grams of weight.It has a brownish gray dorsal coat that contrasts with the almost white ventral coat;dark mask in the eyes.Similar to Rhinolophus euryale,it is distinguished by its larger size and nasal excrescences.
