Description

The tinamo alirosse ( Rhynchotus rufescens ( Temminck,1815 ) ),commonly known as the Pampas chicken,is a bird of the Tinamidae family.Stable animal,is long between 39 and 42 cm.Its weight varies between 700 and 920 grams for males and 815 and 1040 grams for females.Of great structure,it has a solid beak and slightly curved downwards with black spots on the vertex.The tips of the primary remiges are red.In adults,the plumage takes place about three weeks after birth.The lower parts are pale gray-brown in color tending to whitish with slight black striking on the sides.Equally,irregular stripes of various colors are present on the back,on the tail and on the wings,with the exception of the primary ones.The little ones are red,with a white lower part.The body has extensive striations of black color.
