Violet-bellied hummingbird

Description

It measures 8.1 cm in length and its peak 13 mm.It presents sexual dimorphism.In the male the plumage of the back is bright green;the crown and especially the throat,are bright golden green and the chest and belly blue to blue violet glowing;the tail is bluish black.The female is slightly smaller,with green plumage on the upper parts;throat and chest light gray with some violet dots;whitish belly.
