Description

The royal hummingbird or angel of the real sun ( Heliangelus regalis ),is a species of bird of the family Trochilidae,order Apodiformes It measures from 10 to 12 cm and weighs between 4 and 5 gr.The males have a plumage of dark blue,almost black,with a long forked tail.The females are dark green on the upper part,with chest and reddish-brown belly speckled in green.Its forked tail is shorter than that of males. They feed on nectar and insects
