Zephyranthes mesochloa, is a species of geophytic bulbous plant belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is distributed throughout South America. Zephyranthes mesochloa, is native to South America and has white or pink flowers. Zephyranthes mesochloa was described by Herb. former Lindl. and published in Edwards's Botanical Register, in the year 1830. Zephyranthes : generic name that comes from ( Zephyrus, God of the west wind in Greek mythology and Anthos, flower) can be translated as "flower of the west wind", being the "west wind" the one that brings the rain that triggers the flowering of these species.
