Description

The Eleoselino has a lignified root, the stem, typical of the umbelliferae, is hairless with yellowish reflections and several 8-25 ray umbels scattered on the apex of the branches; the herbaceous leaves are up to 50 cm long and have a triangular-sharp outline, with a 3- or 5-pinnate lamina; the flowers have small yellow petals, stamens longer than the petals; the fruits are double achenes, each of which with four membranous longitudinal wings: two protruding dorsals about 1 mm, two lateral ones about 3 mm. It grows on rocky and stony soils, in an arid environment. The fresh leaves were used by shepherds as a filter inside a funnel to transfer the milk and at the same time flavor it.
