Description

Orbea decaisneana is a species of dicotyledonous plant inthe family Apocynaceae, subfamily Asclepiadoideae, native toSaharan Africa. They are succulent herbaceous plants with slender, branching stems, which root freely in contact with the ground. The blackish-purple flowers are frosted with tiny white papillae. Orbea decaisneana is a very toxic plant, however the toxins involved have not been chemically characterized. Orbea is a genus of flowering plants of the family Apocynaceae, first described as a genus in 1812. It is native to Africa.
