Description

Escobaria sneedii is a Chihuahuan Desert endemic species known to occur in the Franklin Mountains of west Texas and Florida (Trans-Pecos region in El Paso, Hudspeth, Presidio, and Brewster counties) and on both the east and west slopes of the Guadalupe Mountains of southern New Mexico (Las Cruces ). USA. Altitude: It grows at elevations of 600-2600 metres above sea level. This species is found often on steep, south-facing slopes in rocky Silurian-Ordovician-Cambrian limestone outcrops in Chihuhauan desert scrub or in conifer woodlands in the western trans-Pecos region.
