(Gymnocalycium mostii)
Gymnocalycium mostii ( Gürke ) Britton & Rose, is a flowering plant belonging to the Cactaceae family. It is endemic to Córdoba in Argentina. It is a common species that has spread throughout the world. The species is found in the La Quebrada Water Reserve. Gymnocalycium mostiiit grows individually with dark green stems, spherical flattened, with a diameter that rarely reaches 20 cm and with a height of 6-7 cm. The 11 to 14 ribs are deeply serrated and clearly divided into cusps. The spines are curved and dce yellowish-brown and have a darker tip that turns gray with age. It has one or two central spines, up to 2 cm (rarely up to 3 cm) long. The seven to eleven (rarely three) radial spines are 0.6 to 2.2 centimeters long. Flowers are pale pink and may have a darker neck. They reach a length of up to 8 cm and have the same diameter. The egg-shaped fruits are slate to blue-green in color and reach a diameter of up to 1.5 centimeters and a length of up to 2 cm.
