Description

Previously assessed as Vulnerable (VU D2) under the 1994 Categories and Criteria. With better information, this is now reassessed as Critically Endangered. Cyanea horrida is endemic to the island of Maui, Hawaii. It is known from five subpopulations, totaling less than 20 individuals. Threats to the species include pigs, weeds, and possibly rats and invertebrates.
