Description

The white jaguarzo ( Halimium halimifolium ) is a species of the family Cistaceae . It is a very branched erect shrub , up to 1.5 m high. The young silvery branches , the oldest brown ones. Opposite leaves in cross, elliptical or spatulate lanceolate , 1-4 cm long and 5-20 mm wide, young tomentose white, then gray-green beam , shield-shaped scales and stellate hairs. Inflorescences in clusters . Flowers yellow gold, with dark spots at the base, 3-4 cm wide, 5 sepals , 2 very small, inside 3-10 mm long, very scaly, sometimes hairy. 5 petals broadly cuneiform.Ovary super . Style in the shape of a club. Oval capsule , 8 mm long, with 2-3 locules enclosed in the persistent calyx. This species is especially variable.
