Heloniopsis leucantha is a new root plant species that was first described by Gen-Iti Koidzumi, and got its current name from Masaji Masazi Honda. Heloniopsis leucantha is part of the genus Heloniopsis and the family New root plants. The species' range is Nansei-shoto. No subspecies are listed.
