(Bulbophyllum umbellatum)
Bulbophyllum umbellatum , is a species of epiphytic orchid native to Asia . It is a small-sized, warm-growing orchid with growing lithophytic habits with a separation of 1 to 2 cm between each ovoid, rough and conical pseudobulb that is wrapped at the base by a fibrous sheath and that bears a single leaf, apical, coriaceous, closely elliptic, emarginated, petiolate base. It flowers in a thin inflorescence, 20 cm long, basal, with 5-8 flowers that is barely shorter than the leaf and has an apical umbel of fragrant flowers that appear in the spring. It is found in the western Himalayas , eastern Himalayas, Assam , India , Nepal , Bhutan , Myanmar , Thailand , China and southern Vietnam in the humid forests, covered in moss, and coniferous forests on the mossy branches in old gnarled dwarf trees at elevations of 1000 to 2200 meters.
