Description

Prosthechea ionocentra is an epiphytic orchid native to the Americas. It is a medium-sized orchid, with epiphytic habits and a broad pseudobulb that blooms in spring with a terminal, racemose inflorescence with 20 to 24 flowers. It needs a lot of sun, and watering in spring and summer and less in autumn and winter. It is found in Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia at elevations of 900 to 1,600 meters.
