Description

Russelia sarmentosa is a species of flowering plantin the family Scrophulariaceae. It has stems that reach a size of up to 2 m high, the branches opposite or tripled. Leaves opposite or ternate, 14-70 mm long and 8-50 mm wide, the margin serrate to serrate-crenate, sparsely pubescent with peltate scales on upper surface and rarely below. Inflorescence with 3-30 flowers, peduncles 4-13 (-18) mm long, pedicels 1-5 mm long; calyx 2-4 mm long; corolla 6-15 mm long, internally pubescent. It is a common, widely variable species found in disturbed areas throughout the country; at an altitude of 0=1500 m; fl and fr all year; 1 from Mexico to Colombia, also in Cuba.
