Description

Hybrid ray-grass ( Lolium hybridum Hausskn.) Is also known as ryegrass, ray-grass, tetraploid ryegrass, depending on the growing area. Due to its wide distribution, it is translated into other languages: Hybrid ryegrass (English), Ray-grass hybride (French) and Bastard-Raigras (German). They have thin stems of two to five knots, with leaves folded or rolled in the yolk. Their auricles can be small, soft and shaped like claws, pointed or blunt, depending on the predominance of perennial or annual character of the plant. 1 The inflorescence is a spike, with numerous spikelets arranged along the spine. The seed is small in size (the weight of 1000 seeds weighs approximately 2 g).
