Description

Primula hirsuta is a plant from the primrose family ( Primulaceae ). The 1-7 cm high plant is a fireplace . The pink-red flowers are 1-2 cm in size and have a white mouth. The flowers grow in clusters of usually one to three flowers, sometimes up to twenty flowers. The pink-red to purple petals can spread flat. They are incised to a quarter of their length. The flowering period runs from April to July. The plant occurs in moist rock gorges and on stony meadows, at altitudes ranging from 700-3000 m in the Central Alps .
