Description

Drypetes gerrardii is an evergreeen, much-branched shrub or a tree with pendent branches and a narrow, dense crown; it can grow from around 3 metres up to 30 metres tall. The bole can be slightly fluted to sharply buttressed up to 1 metre; it ranges in diameter from 15 - 38cm and can be unbranched for up to 10 metres The tree is harvested from the wild for local use as a food and source of wood. It provides a good shade
