Description

Is a botanical species of plant with flower of the family of the Rhamnaceae , symbol of the caatinga of the Brazilian northeast; very adapted to hot climate, semi-humid to semi-arid;  is also found in Bolivia and Paraguay. It is an evergreen tree , up to 12 m high and trunk 3 to 5 dm in diameter, is a tree that in its natural environment of the savanna is medium in size, with twisted branches protected by thorns. However, the species adapts well to most humid places, where it becomes an elegant tree about 15 meters high. Its leaves resemble cinnamon leaves, except for the light green tone and more membranous consistency. Its flowers are small, cream-colored, giving rise to spherical fruits, small, yellowish, sweet, with a seed inside.
