Description

Rubus fecundus is an uncommon North American species of flowering plant in the rose family. It has been in central Canada and in the eastern and central United States, from Qu-bec and Ontario south as far as Missouri, Alabama and South Carolina. Nowhere is it very common, though most of the known populations can be found in the Ozarks and the Appalachians. The genetics of Rubus is extremely complex, so that it is difficult to decide on which groups should be recognized as species. There are many rare species with limited ranges such as this. Further study is suggested to clarify the taxonomy.
