Description

Madhuca sandakanensis is a tree in the family Sapotaceae. It grows up to 17 metres (60 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 20 centimetres (8 in). The twigs are pale yellowish green. Inflorescences bear up to five flowers. The tree is named after Sandakan in Malaysia's Sabah state. Its habitat is mixed dipterocarp forest from sea-level to 500 metres (1,600 ft) altitude. M. sandakanensis is endemic to Borneo.
