The Bay of Mont Saint-Michel in northern France

05-19-2018

Today’s Video of the Day comes from the European Space Agency’s Earth from Space series and features a look at the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel in northern France.

These images were captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission and reveal how the bay, which has been named an official UNESCO World Heritage Site, experiences some of the biggest tides in Europe. The tides can vary by as much as 45 feet, which makes certain parts of the bay very dangerous when the tide comes in quickly.
