Before the Flood: Leo’s climate-change doc opens today
We have been waiting with baited breath since September to see the new National Geographic epic Before the Flood starring Leonardo Dicaprio. We’ll finally breathe free today as the film premieres in New York and Los Angeles theaters. It will air globally on the National Geographic Channel on October 30th.
Directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Fisher Stevens and narrated by Academy Award®-winning actor environmental activist and U.N. Messenger of Peace Leonardo DiCaprio, the film has partnered with Rock the Vote and theSkimm to host fifty university screenings, aiming to educate and register voters at the events.
DiCaprio journeys around five Arctic countries speaking with top scientists, world leaders, activists and local residents to fully illustrate the effect climate change is wreaking on our environment. Before the Flood suggests solutions and resolutions for this underlying threat to our way of life.
“Climate change is the most critical and urgent problem facing our world today, and it must be a top issue for voters this Election Day,” says DiCaprio.
