Cleaner fuels and better drugs from synthetic proteins

05-03-2019

Today’s Video of the Day from the National Science Foundation describes the work of scientists at NYU who aim to design synthetic proteins.

The research team, led by chemist Kent Kirshenbaum, is engineering molecules to mimic the structure and function of natural proteins.

The development of synthetic proteins may ultimately lead to more effective drugs and healthcare treatments, advanced materials, and cleaner fuels.
