Hubble transformed the way we view our universe

12-27-2019

Hubble transformed the way we view our universe Today’s Video of the Day from NASA describes the cultural impact of the Hubble Space Telescope and the mind-blowing photographs it has captured since its launch in 1990.

For nearly three decades, Hubble has completely changed our understanding of the universe and has shaped how we perceive it.

Today, the telescope is still one of the largest and most sophisticated research tools, delivering extremely high-resolution images for a detailed view of outer space.  During its thirty years of operation, the Hubble Space Telescope has changed how we see the cosmos. Its images, based on data returned by the telescope and carefully crafted through digital image processing, have expanded scientific understandings of everything from planets in our solar system to dark matter. As seen above in video Hubble transformed the way we view our universe.

Hubble has helped survey galaxies that existed when the universe was only 600 million years old. Previous estimates had suggested that galaxies didn’t form until the universe was at least two billion years old. Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own. The Universe is out there, waiting for you to discover it.
