Today’s Video of the Day from NASA Goddard features a powerful view of Hurricane Florence as it moves west across the Atlantic Ocean on September 10, 2018.
The storm has been rapidly intensifying, strengthening from a tropical storm into a Category 4 hurricane in 72 hours.
Hurricane Florence is projected to make landfall along the eastern seaboard of the United States late Thursday night or early Friday morning. By Monday night, the storm was centered more than 1,000 miles southeast of Cape Fear, North Carolina.
This dramatic video was captured by cameras outside the International Space Station as it flew 255 miles over the storm.
