Mount Triglav from space

12-15-2018

Today’s Video of the Day from the European Space Agency features Mount Triglav, which is the largest peak in Slovenia.

Visible in the center of the image, the snow-peaked mountain rises 2,800 meters above sea level.

The resort town of Bled is off to the west, which is a popular destination for both winter and summer outdoor sports.

Further southwest, the capital city of Ljubljana is known for being environmentally friendly, earning the title of European Green Capital in 2016.

This image was captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2A satellite on May 6, 2018.
