Northeastern Ethiopia from space

09-15-2018

Today’s Video of the Day from the European Space Agency (ESA) features a region of Northeast Ethiopia called Semera.

With just over 2,600 residents, the town of Semera has replaced Asaita as the capital of the Afar Region.

The newly-named capital is located in the Great Rift Valley between the Ethiopian Plateau and the Somali Plateau.
