Before satellites, solar eclipses revealed solar storms
Today, Monday August 21, 2017 marks the arrival of the Great American Total Solar Eclipse. But solar eclipses are more than just a beautiful sight to be seen. Historically, these events have helped scientists understand everything from the sun’s structure to proof of Einstein’s theory of general relativity.
